Did you know pregnancy isn’t considered a “Qualifying Life Event” (QLE) for TRICARE? That means expectant moms on TRICARE Prime often have only one care option—their local Military Treatment Facility (MTF)—and can’t switch plans even if the MTF is understaffed or has long wait times. This isn’t right! No military family should worry about accessing quality care during pregnancy. What a night! NMFA was honored to celebrate with our friends from the District of Columbia Society, Sons of the American Revolution and the District of Columbia Daughters of the American Revolution at the 2024 Sweethearts and Patriots Gala, hosted at the British Embassy by His Royal Majesty`s Ambassador to the United States, Dame Karen Pierce DCMG. As the beneficiary of this year`s gala, NMFA guests were joined by Board Member and military family champion Holly Petraeus, whose husband GEN David Petraeus keynoted the fabulous event.
On any given day, a #MilTeen may deal with one or both parents being deployed, military-mandated moves on short notice, leaving friends, neighbors, and all that is familiar to start over again and again.
